Elizabeth Marshall, MPH, ICCE, CD(DONA) has been continuously certified as a childbirth educator (ICEA) and birth doula (DONA) since 1999. She has engaged over 1,000 pregnant women in their own health education in a variety of settings, including health department prenatal clinics and community classes. Liz has successfully implemented the Business Case for Breastfeeding, Centering Pregnancy, and Baby Basics Moms Club. In 2011, she was named Advocate of the Year by the Consortium for Infant and Child Health (CINCH) in Norfolk, Virginia. She currently manages the Smoking Cessation and Reduction in Pregnancy Treatment (SCRIPT) program for the Society for Public Health Education, a nonprofit, independent professional association of health education professionals located in Washington, D.C. She offered classes and doula services through her business, Gentle Stork Childbirth Services, first in Columbus, Ohio and then Newport News, Virginia for 15 years. Liz received her Master of Public Health degree from The Ohio State University. She lives in Takoma Park, Maryland with her husband and her youngest child.
