Honoring Judy Norsigian & Classic Maine Dinner

Dinner together as a group! We will honor Judy Norsigian and Our Bodies Ourselves, as well as others in the Boston Women's Health Book Collective while enjoying a classic Maine dinner.

Join us for a special dinner Friday Oct 12,  7 - 9pm, included in full conference registration

Judy Norsigian is a co-founder of Our Bodies Ourselves who served as executive director of the organization from 2001 to 2015.

An internationally renowned speaker and author on a range of women’s health concerns, Judy’s areas of focus include women and health care reform, abortion and contraception, childbirth (especially the role of midwifery), genetics and reproductive technologies, and drug and device safety. She has appeared on numerous national television and radio programs, including NBC Nightly News, Al Jazeera, The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Early Show, Oprah, Fox News and The Current.
Judy and the Boston Women’s Book Collective have opened doors as part of "the women's liberation movement" starting in their own communities, and expanding globally, impacting millions.

They have done amazing work since 1969 to illuminate sexual health issues for women in this country and in 1971 came out with the first edition of Our Bodies, Ourselves. The book has sold over 4 million copies and has been (and continues to be) translated into many languages, helping people all over the world through adaptation to their own cultural needs.

Judy has been an author and editor for each of the nine editions of Our Bodies, Ourselves, the organization’s landmark book on sexuality and reproductive health. A new and revised edition published by Simon & Schuster in 2011 — 40 years after the book’s initial publication — received critical acclaim, including being named one of the best consumer health books of that year by Library Journal.

Joining the celebration will be Inanna, Sisters in Rhythm a percussion and  vocal ensemble dedicated to cultural diversity, education and healing through the universal language of music. Over the last 28 years they have recorded 6 albums, taught drumming and culture to youth in schools and workshops, and performed extensively, witnessing the power of the drum and its role in building conscious community and cultivating great joy.

Dinner with Judy is included for all full conference registrants. Additional tickets are available for $55 each at the conference registration site here.
