Jenni Huntly

Biography

Jenni Huntly CPM, LM is a queer woman and licensed midwife who practices in Austin, Texas with her wife, Christy Tashjian. A graduate of Ryerson University in Ontario, Canada, Jenni has worked as a registered midwife in Ontario, Quebec, and Texas, as well as in Haiti.  Passionate about culturally safe care for all families, including those in the LGBTQ community, Jenni has presented at various conferences on queer health issues and specifically the needs of LGBTQ families trying to conceive. She designed and co-facilitated the course Becoming Parents in 2013 and has been published in the Squat Birth Journal and as a contributing author on various Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Association of Ontario Midwives. She also contributed the lesson Queer People Having Babies to the recent Sexuality Education Curriculum published by the Center for Sex Education. She has the amazing support of her blended family for her midwifery and advocacy work.
