Jennifer Averill Moffitt

Biography

Jennifer Jo Averill Moffitt, MSN, CNM has been the Perinatal Services Manager at Family Health Center of Worcester, since 2010, and has served as a UMass Family Practice Department Instructor since 2011. She is on the MBCP (Mindfulness Based Childbirth and Parenting) Faculty since 2015. Her previous experiences include a Fulbright at Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica. Jennifer taught 8th grade in Mississippi before getting her Nurse-Midwifery degree at UCSF in 2003. She teaches MBCP at her community health center, and is particularly interested in issues of health disparities, mindfulness, and resilience, in community health center populations. As an Instructor at UMass Memorial Hospital, she teaches modules on cross-cultural care, nonpharmacologic labor support, LGBT MCH care, and woman-centered informed consent.
