Jill Breen

Biography

Jill Breen CPM, CLC has been serving mothers, babies and families for over 40 years as a community midwife, becoming a CPM in 1997. Apprentice trained, she is a founding member of Midwives of Maine, M.O.M., a 37 year old statewide midwifery association, and has been a MANA member since 1984. Jill has served MANA on the Board of Directors as Region 1 Rep, 2nd VP, 1st VP, and President , as well as on the Document and Editorial Review Committees and is currently Communications Chair. She is a Home Birth Summit delegate active on the Collaboration Task Force.  Jill has trained several CPMs in Maine and continues to write, speak and mentor as well as catch babies and trust birth.

Jill is the mother of 6 grown children, all born at home, and 9 grandchildren, all born into the hands of midwives including her own. She lives on an organic farm in central Maine with her husband Peter and any kids and grandkids she can persuade to visit. She makes herbal  remedies and is famous for her Dragonfly Hollow Healing Salve.
