Lisa Thomas Welch, LM, CPM is known for her hands-on, practical teaching style. She is passionate about education that is both applicable and accurate for out of hospital practice. Receiving her Texas Midwifery License, Certified Professional Midwife, and bachelor’s degree in 2006, Lisa practices in North Texas and now maintains a very small practice as well as serving as president of the North Texas Midwives Association and as a preceptor both for ATM and NARM. She spends the majority of her time caring for her two young sons. In addition to her 12 years of midwifery experience and over 500 births, she has also served for five years as Apprenticeship Director at Family Birth Services in Grand Prairie, Texas. She is also known for her skills as a teacher, with classes in lab values, preeclampsia, GBS, and thyroid as well as those highlighting the fetal and newborn heart. Lisa has trained many students and delights in watching new midwives learn and graduate.
