MANA 2019 Speaker
Tereé Fruga, LM, CPM, is licensed in TX. She began formal midwifery training in 2012, although her birth work started in 2003 spending ten years serving as labor support for families during birth and the immediate postpartum and as a patient care technician in labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn nursery. She completed a rigorous midwifery clinical apprenticeship being trained under the wisdom and instruction of some of the most amazing midwives this side of TX. Tereé has attended over 300 births. She received her CPM credential in 2015 and is a member of the North Texas Midwives Association. Tereé believes that every woman should have easy access to quality midwifery care, regardless of her demographic background. Her heartbeat is to eliminate racial disparities in birth outcomes among African American women and their babies. Making prenatal care easily accessible to every woman is essential in seeing this change come to fruition. Tereé serves clients in both English and Spanish and takes pride in being able to minister to women in their native language. She has the distinct honor of being called “Mom” by 4 mighty little men and one courageous little princess. It is out of the outpouring of her first ministry of motherhood, that she is called to the sisterhood of midwifery and birth.
